Search Engine Optimization

On the web, where people launch hundreds of websites every day, it can be tough to get noticed. That’s where SEO comes in: it’s the use of specific keywords to attract customers looking for a particular item or service.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a vital component of any digital marketing strategy. With tools like Google Analytics and Yoast available for free, it’s also the most accessible to anyone. Unfortunately, new users can easily get confused by the assortment of strategies. It all depends on the type of business you own and the type of customers you’d like to attract. Additionally, it’s about how you present yourself as an authority online, which can bring even more people to your site.

Here are some questions to ask yourself before beginning this journey

Who is my ideal customer?

What words are they using to search online?

What ways can I use the wording on my website?

How do I make an effective content and keyword strategy to start my website’s growth?

If you can answer some of them, then you’ve begun your journey towards finding your customers online.

If you can’t, our team at Blue Ananas will be happy to walk you through it.

Local SEO

Local SEO is optimizing your website to attract the customers within your city or community.

This type of SEO is slightly different from regular SEO because the audience is smaller, from the whole world to the people within a few miles looking for your product or service.

To bring local people to your business, without spending money on ads, you’ll have to write specific wording on your website. It can be especially tricky if you’re competing against more prominent brands that may be in your community, such as Wal-Mart or Amazon.

There are a few tricks that we would recommend using for boosting your brand’s local SEO, such as:

  1.  Update your website’s local page on Google My Business.
  2. Add the keyword “[type of good or service] in [community]” naturally into the copy of your website.
  3. Make sure all your site description uses those keywords.

Local SEO can still be as difficult as regular SEO, despite the change in audience size.

Your strategy can depend on whether your target audience is in a specific area or a more expansive city (e.g., Bell County or the entire city of Austin in Texas).

It’s about the wording and how to reach the people looking for something you can provide.

We hope that was a reasonable explanation for what you need in local SEO. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us at Blue Ananas.

How to Master Voice Search in 2020

“Alexa, please tell me what voice search is.”

Sure, but I’m not Alexa.

Voice search is when people use their voice to search rather than typing. People may have considered this a fad, but with nearly 50% of searches online coming from voice search, it has undoubtedly affected search engines and the results they provide that may affect your business.

Here are some stats for you:

  •   Voice labs found that there were a total of 33 million voice-first devices in circulation.
  •   In a survey of SEO trends for 2017 and beyond, voice search stood at the third spot.
  •   In his keynote, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that one-fifth of Google’s queries are voice searches.
  •   Teenagers are savvy users of voice search, but Thrive Analytics found that people in all age groups use mobile personal assistants.
  •   22% of voice queries are for local content.

While it may be useful to know, the main question is the implementation: how do you optimize your voice search SEO to boost your rank on Google?

To understand how to utilize voice search, you need to know about one important thing: Google Hummingbird update back in 2013.

This update, combined with Google Assistant, learns your natural speech patterns to recognize voice texture, interests, and behavior.

It uses this information to find out what you search with your voice.

To begin your research, we recommend starting with a tool called Answer the Public.

They provide insights into people’s vocal searches and their search topics.

Also, keep in mind that voice searching is much different than regular typing.

We usually don’t type things out completely to save energy, but on voice, it’s entirely different. People search for longer keywords. Instead of searching for “restaurants in Dallas,” people would search, “which restaurant in Dallas is still open?” or “which restaurant in Dallas is the best?”

For voice search engine optimization (voice SEO), you have to adjust your content and your metadata to answer the relevant and most searched questions of your targeted audience. If it sounds complicated, it’s because it’s still relatively new. That’s where we come in. We’d be happy to answer any questions regarding the voice search needs of your business.
